YOUTH
The moment we hear or say the word ‘youth’, what come to our mind is the vibrant energy and the bright young faces. Youth is a stage in ones life that’s filled with fun but at the same time a platform where ‘realization of good and bad’ and ‘handling responsibilities’ plays a major role. These two criteria are rightly fulfilled by the youth of St. Sebastian’s Church . Our parish has given the right opportunity for each and every youth to express their talent. The youth of St. Sebastian’s Church is known for its unity. Whether it is Parents Day or Christmas or let it be any other important occasion, the youth stand together and accomplish all the tasks of preparation and execution with great zeal.
The main activities of the youth are during talentia, enthuzia, Sports competition, street play, various choir competitions etc. In all these activities the youth take interest and bring success not only for them but also for the church. The youth group organizes events such as ‘Parents Day’, ‘Onam’, ‘Mothers Day’, ‘Christmas’, ‘Parish Day’, ‘Fathers day’, ‘Good Friday’ and ‘Easter’ and add a creative touch to these occasion. Putting up various game stalls in ‘Onam’, Preparation of crib for ‘Christmas’, cultural programs for ‘Parish Day’ and Biblical tabloid for ‘Good Friday’ are some of the praiseworthy examples. Whether it is the decoration or the participation for cultural activities the youth group is always active and dynamic. A novel initiative of the youth in recent times is to make a T-shirt for the youth, which represent the St. Sebastian’s Church .
The main motto of the youth group is to encourage the upcoming youth and make them also a part of the ongoing initiatives so that in future they also do something. The youth group of St. Sebastian’s Church will see to it that even in future it will “rise and shine” as it always has been. These programs are formalized at the youth meetings. The youth meeting is usually held on the fourth Sunday of every month.
